The release of the SSR-H Series, Epson’s first horizontally articulated precision assembly robot greatly impacted efficiency.The selective compliant articulated arm, or SCARA, boasted features far exceeding its competition, such as a compact size that let it easily integrate into existing assembly lines, high repeatability, and a maximum operation speed of 2 m/second.This series was incorporated into factories, especially for automating watch assembly lines.
