The release of the SSR-H Series, Epson’s first horizontally articulated precision assembly robot greatly impacted #manufacturing efficiency.
The selective compliant articulated #robot arm, or SCARA, boasted features far exceeding its competition, such as a compact size that let it easily integrate into existing assembly lines, high repeatability, #precision, and a maximum operation speed of 2 m/second.
This series was incorporated into #Epson factories, especially for automating watch assembly lines. Outside of the company, it was highly used in the car, electronics, medical, optics, and communication industries, propelling Epson to become one of the leading manufacturers of small, high-precision SCARA robots.
